Michelangelo’s star still shines over Florence. While working at the papal court in Rome, he maintained a tight bond with his hometown and here created some of his most important works.
The relationship between the famous artist and the city was complicated by the complex patronage of the Medici family. This tour dwells on the artist’s career from the early work of the statue of David to the mature project of the New Sacristy in the church of San Lorenzo.
You will have the chance to learn about the adventurous long life of this great master of the Renaissance.
Since his beginning Michelangelo showed a unique personality that continues to astonish and move every visitor who come in contact with his works and his words.
In this experience I will let Michelangelo’s own spirit, in the form of his poetry and recollections shine a light on the statues in the Accademia Galleria and in the Medici Chapels.
